Class I & II Biological Safety Cabinets

Con-Test employees have been active in the field of testing biosafety cabinets since the early 1970's. Through prior employment at one of Canada's leading research universities and also at a prominent North American safety cabinet manufacturer members of our staff have brought to Con-Test a wealth of experience and knowledge that has permeated through to all of our staff over the 30 plus years of our activities.

Con-Test was the only company to successfully achieve specific accreditation by the Standards Council of Canada for the testing of biological safety cabinets. We were the first company in this industry to become ISO 9001 registered with a quality assurance program. Employees of Con-Test have achieved individual qualifications for accreditation by NSF and have participated in numerous training programs, offered in house and by manufacturers of containment equipment to acquaint them with the newest design features and performance enhancements.

For eight years our company President, Rene Soetens, served as a director of the US based Controlled Environmental Testing Association (CETA) including one year serving as its President. This appointment generated international recognition and, more importantly, access to extensive knowledge from industry professionals throughout North America.

Con-Test's knowledge of biological safety cabinets includes active manufacturers such as Airstream, Baker, Envirco, Esco, Germfree, Heraeus, Jouan, Kendro, Labconco, Microzone, Nuaire, and ThermoForma. We are also familiar with retired lines such as Bioquest, Canadian Cabinets, CCI, Fisher Hamilton, Forma and Western Scientific. We also maintain an extensive library of manuals for reference.

Certification to appropriate standards or specifications for the above listed equipment is readily available from Con-Test. On those occasions when cabinets do not meet requirements we can advise what appropriate corrective action is required and replace or repair parts as necessary. Con-Test carries an extensive inventory of HEPA filters in four locations across Canada to ensure a timely response.
